Description HVAC & COOLING INSTALLATIONS TECHNICIAN CENTRE FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH GENEVA, SWIZERLAND
We are seeking an experienced Technician to join the Cooling & Ventilation Group which is responsible for designing, constructing, maintaining and operating cooling and air conditioning systems and large scale fluid distribution systems for the whole Laboratory, in particular in accelerator and experimental underground areas.
As HVAC & Cooling Installations Technician, you will be a member of the Design Office which is in charge of the design, tendering and work phase of Cooling & Ventilation installations as well as the feasibility studies for new plants.
After an initial period of familiarisation, you will supervise and follow-up the mechanical work on Cooling & Ventilation installations: air-conditioning, water pumping, compressed air as well as chilled water production systems and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with schedules and costs as well as with safety rules and technical standards. You will also participate in the definition of technical solutions and propose modifications according to user?s requirements and will prepare requests for offers to external contractors and validate orders.
You will be required to take part in preparing price enquiry documents and will contribute to calculations and summary measurements for ventilation and industrial piping systems with the support of Design Engineers.
To succeed as HVAC & Cooling Installations Technician you should be qualified to Higher Technical Diploma level in mechanics, electromechanics or equivalent, with good knowledge of ventilation, compressed-air production, air conditioning and chilled water production systems. You should have experience in the work supervision and repair of HVAC and hydraulic plants, and knowledge of low-voltage electrical equipment, control systems and process automation would be an advantage.
You must have good organisational skills and the ability to co-ordinate activities involving different technical fields (electricity, civil engineering, heavy handling, cooling and ventilation and cost control) as well as the ability to use modern computing tools for computer-assisted maintenance management (D7i) and office work (Microsoft Office).
All positions are offered on a limited-duration contract for a period of five years. Subject to certain conditions, holders of limited-duration contracts may be granted an indefinite contract.
