Description ELECTRICAL SAFETY TECHNICIAN CENTRE FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH GENEVA, SWIZERLAND
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Technician to join the Electrical Engineering Group which has the mandate to design, procure and operate the centre?s electrical distribution networks.
As Electrical Safety Technician within the Safety Network Section, you will establish power balances on the safety networks and follow their evolution, investigate problems and failures of the safety systems (e.g. UPS systems, diesel systems, safety lighting), their consequences and propose improvements and will write maintenance and operative procedures for the safety systems.
You will also be require to organise and supervise the maintenance works related to these systems carried out by external contractors, to organise and take part in the periodic tests of these systems and to take part in the reception tests of equipment in manufacturers? premises and their commissioning.
To succeed as Electrical Safety Technician you should be qualified to Higher Technical Diploma level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a good level of experience in the design and installation of high-voltage and low-voltage power networks for a large industrial site.
You should also have experience of low-voltage networks calculations, power electronics (e.g. UPS systems, battery chargers, inverters) and experience of safety issues in the operation of large electrical systems and in the operation and maintenance of power networks. Experience with a Computing Maintenance Management System (CAMMS)is also required.
You must hold a current driving licence and must be fluent in either English or French, with a basic knowledge of the other language or an undertaking to acquire it rapidly.
All positions are offered on a limited-duration contract for a period of five years. Subject to certain conditions, holders of limited-duration contracts may be granted an indefinite contract.
