Description INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & COMPUTING CENTRE FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH GENEVA, SWIZERLAND
We are seeking a range of Information Technology and Computing Professionals to join a Centre for Scientific Research which is developing Information Technologies to meet the unprecedented challenges of taking the world?s largest scientific instrument into yet uncharted territories. From storing and processing Petabytes of data, to steering a beam running close to the speed of light over 30km of accelerators our computing environment is sure to have a challenge for you.

- Software engineers (Java, C++, Oracle) - Database administrators (Oracle) - Linux and Windows system administrators - Network specialists - Data storage experts - Computing security roles - Communication networks and telecommunication - Control systems (embedded systems, PLC, regulation, SCADA)
They are interested in applications from professionals with qualifications from completed apprenticeship up to university degrees (Bachelor, Masters degree up to PhD) in information technologies, computing or other relevant fields.
You must be fluent in either English or French, with a basic knowledge of the other language or an undertaking to acquire it rapidly.
As one of their staff you will receive thorough and continuous training and become part of an international team of experts working in the heart of Europe, pushing the boundaries of your knowledge and skills in a creative atmosphere.
All positions are offered on a limited-duration contract for a period of five years. Subject to certain conditions, holders of limited-duration contracts may be granted an indefinite contract.
You will be joining the world's most advanced fundamental research institute for particle physics who are currently operating the world's biggest and most powerful particle accelerator.
Surprisingly, only a small percentage of staff are research physicists; 33% are engineers and applied physicists and 33% are technicians and technical engineers giving rise to a wide variety of employment opportunities, ranging through all project phases - R&D, design, production, operation and maintenance.
