Description TRAINEE CONTROL SYSTEM/SOFTWARE ENGINEER ELECTRIC MOTORS AUTOMOTIVE COVENTRY
In order to support their continuing growth, our client is now seeking a Trainee Control System/Software Engineer to join their team focused on delivering CO2 reducing technologies to a growing number of customers. The principal responsibilities of this role will be to assist with the development and validation of motor control and application software for the integration of their technologies with their customers' engine management systems for a number of different applications.
The Control System/Software Engineer will be assisting with the development of C code for embedded real-time systems; the use of software lifecycle development tools and processes (e.g. debuggers, configuration management tools) and use of TargetLink / Matlab for system/software development. You will also assist with the undertaking of the appreciation of low-level hardware issues and of serial communications protocols (CAN and LIN).
The successful applicant will hold a degree qualification in Computing/Engineering and should have a background in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. A wider knowledge/interest in Automotive Systems and Engineering, as well as an appreciation of Rotating Machines/Switched Reluctance Motors would also be desirable. You should be able to work with limited supervision; be self motivating and have a flexible approach to working in small teams.
The position is available immediately and a competitive salary will be offered, depending on the candidate?s experience and will include, after a suitable probationary period, share options and a discretionary bonus.
