Description
Our client’s principal business interests are glass and chemical products. They are one of the world’s leading producers of fluorochemicals and fluoropolymer materials.
They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Day Operator to join the ETFE Plant.
The successful candidate will be working primarily on days assisting the Control Operator to carry out a portion of the production and periodic maintenance tasks in polymerisation section of ETFE plant (and including some utility sections), using appropriate skills and knowledge so that plant SHE performance is maintained. To process output and efficiency, in terms of raw material usage and equipment availability is maximised. The successful candidare will have the skills and knowledge to deputise in the team for short periods and be able to cover the Control Operator Shift job should that be required
The Day Operator should have prior experience of a process role within a hazardous, computer-controlled chemical plant. The post holder should have experience of taking corrective action to address product quality issues and have strong SHE knowledge, ideally in the hazards of TFE and ethylene.
A responsible committed and flexible attitude is required, as is a degree of competence in dealing with abnormal or emergency conditions. In a crisis situation, there could be rapid developments, and it is essential that the incumbent is temperamentally suited to working under pressure, and keeping a calm, logical, rational head even in emergencies.
By its very nature the job will be varied in content and unpredictable. The post holder will also have to establish a strong working relationship with 5 separate shifts.
