Our client is a manufacturer of high quality, bespoke orthopaedic footwear and orthotics. They are seeking to appoint a Bespoke Footwear Technician to work in their customised workshop in Kettering.
You will be responsible for interpreting customer requirements, hands on manufacturing of prosthetic/orthotics appliances using a variety of materials, such as, metals, plastics, leathers and fabrics, creating lasts and pattern cutting using a CAD-CAM programme.
They are looking for an experienced technician with technical aptitude, skilled in last fitting, with an overall appreciation of general footwear manufacture. You must have a thorough understanding of prescription terminology and foot anatomy.
With the ability to work to deadlines, you will have a high attention to detail. You will also be a confident communicator with the ability to work within an established, highly skilled team.
The ideal candidate should possess the required orthotic skills with a real passion for quality, are open to ideas for the use and application of novel materials and processes and have good IT capability.
Candidates from other industries such as car manufacturing, aerospace etc who have the relevant transferable skills (e.g. CAD/CAM, pattern skills) and a genuine interest in this field will also be considered. Specific training will be provided.
