Description SENIOR CORROSION ENGINEER ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY BASED ABERDEEN WITH SOME INFREQUENT OFFSHORE TRIPS PERMANENT OR CONTRACT
Due to their ongoing growth strategy, our client is looking for integrity management professionals to join their progressive team based in Aberdeen. They have a requirement for a Senior Corrosion Engineer to work with the Senior Inspection Engineer and their technical specialists in support of the delivery and development of Asset Integrity Management contracts for North Sea operators.
As the Senior Corrosion Engineer your responsibilities will include delivering quarterly KPI corrosion, trending and chemical monitoring performance reports and presentations to clients. You will provide Metallurgical, Materials and Corrosion Engineering expertise to the AIM Team and interface with the chemicals and corrosion monitoring contractors. In addition, you will be responsible for analysing, specifying, planning and implementing budgeted RBI programmes and for chairing and taking part in client RBI meetings. You will be defining corrosion loops; describing degradation mechanisms of each process and undertaking failure analysis, verification of inspection locations and non-destructive testing (NDT) activities.
In this role you will also review chemical injection and cathodic protection systems as they relate to Asset Integrity; update inspection strategies through assessment of integrity data and application of current and emerging methodologies. Furthermore, you will monitor workload and deliver KPI reports; support the development of business plans, bids and subcontractor tendering exercises as may be required by the Head of Integrity or nominated deputy, as well as train and mentor other staff.
To be successful in this role, you will need a degree qualification in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Engineering, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with a Metallurgy/Materials emphasis as well as demonstrable experience in the Offshore Oil & Gas industry or Refinery/ Petrochemical environment. You should also have proven experience in the application of current industry Risk Based Inspection recommended practices and methodologies and be familiar with chemical management control. A good understanding of current corrosion monitoring methods and equipment, as well as familiarity with basic NDT technology is also necessary. You should be willing to travel and work at various customer locations when required.
