Description Maintenance Technician / Electrical Technician / IEE North West Based (Widnes based with travel to other sites included) Circa £25,000 per annum
The Role: Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join their team in the North West. The main purpose of this role is to install, repair, maintain and inspect mechanical and electrical plant equipment and services to satisfactory standards. Within this role, your main responsibilities will include responding quickly to any requests regarding mechanical or electrical faults. You will also be expected to ensure a safety first approach is applied to every job undertaken, notifying the Engineering Manager if any problems arise associated with projects, plants or equipment and maintaining the security of tools and company property. This is a stand alone role working autonomously reporting to Regional Engineering Manager, but also directly responsible to the Operations Manager at Widnes.
What are they looking for? Our client is ideally looking for somebody with manufacturing experience but with a proven electrical background who would be prepared to multi-skill. This role requires a good working knowledge of electrical maintenance practices including single and three phase systems, fault finding, testing and electrical installation work with a good knowledge of the IEE Electrical Regulations. To succeed in this role, you must be able to work with minimum supervision. Due to the necessity of travelling to other sites within the UK with an infrequent requirement to work away from home you will be required to use a company vehicle therefore a full driving licence is essential.
What they offer in return: Our client asks a lot from their people, which is why they have done everything to ensure they give a lot in return. In addition to a highly competitive salary, our client also offers a modern “flexible benefits” package which includes pension, 25 days holiday (with the option to buy and sell), private healthcare and various discounts through the company lifestyle programme. Our client also offers a working environment which is both supportive and enjoyable, putting an emphasis on the work – life balance which is the envy of employees in many other organisations.
Who are they? Our client is a 7 billion dollar world leader in chemical distribution with an extensive network of 163 distribution centres spread across the United States, Canada and 18 countries in Europe. In the UK, our client serves customers from all industries, from pharmaceutical and personal care right through to construction and engineering.
Networx is not a typical agency. We handle applications on behalf of our clients. After applying for this role you will be sent an email that it is essential you read in order to complete your application. Unlike a traditional agency we do not hold a database of candidates or put candidates forward for any other vacancies than those to which they have applied.
