Our client is the second largest steel producer in Europe with an annual crude steel capacity of 20 million tonnes and major manufacturing sites in the UK, Netherlands, Germany, France and Belgium.
Engineering excellence is at the heart of delivering improved performance and, as such, our client is looking for Engineers who share their passion and determination for changing and improving their core engineering processes.
The Area Manager Engineering will lead a multi-disciplined team of Mechanical and Electrical engineers and ensure that the area is maintained and developed to meet customer requirements whilst maintaining legal compliance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for the safe delivery of engineering within own area. Will own and implement engineering integrity standards
Lead the engineering aspects of a multi-disciplined tem and develop engineering strategy
Set and agree standard and goals within the Trio group (Manufacturing, Technical and Engineering) and ensure that engineering expertise is in place
Will own the maintenance budget
Will be accountable for asset reliability and set/agree asset performance limits
Develop and prioritise improvement plan and activities across the Trio area
Qualifications/Experience/Personal Qualities:
The successful applicant will be a strong people manager, able to make decisions and resolve issues, with the drive and commitment to not only maintain standards, but to address problems by utilising the ethos of continuous improvement through the efforts of their team.
Candidates should preferably be educated to degree level or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline or should be a time-served craftsman educated to HNC level, with a proven ability to lead a multi-disciplined team.
