Description Report to: Head of systems and Performance Engineering Direct Reports: None
Key responsibilities Preparation of technical estimates for non-recurring costs and manpower requirements. Requirements capture, validation and definition of verification strategy. Functional analysis. Definition of systems and sub-system architecture. Allocation of requirements to sub-systems and components Preparation of System, Sub-systems and Equipment specifications. Preparation of systems description documents, ICDs and other artefacts Risk management Technical management of external suppliers Liaison with customers Liaison with specialists such as Hardware, Software, performance and ILS engineers. Liaison with other internal department such as product support and operations Delivery of allocated projects to performance, cost and schedule targets.
Core Competencies Understanding of aircraft systems and equipment development Written and verbal communication, presentation skills. Understanding of the qualification and certification of aircraft systems Team working High degree of motivation and ability to work unsupervised. Excellent communication skills at all levels. Flexible, constructive and positive attitude work. Ability to critically evaluate and negotiate design requirements Ability to manage priorities Methodical and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
Qualification and experience Degree in mechanical, electronic or aerospace engineering. Experience of aircraft system and component development Familiarity with industry standards such as Def-Stan 00-970, CS25, Mil-Std-810, RTCA/DO- 254, RTCA/DO178, ARP 4754 etc. Experience of an RM tool such as DOOR or CRADLE. Conversant with Microsoft office application. | | |
