Description Improvement Engineer / Project Engineer (Electrical / Controls) Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire £26,408 - £48,300 plus benefits
Our client is the second largest steel producer in Europe with an annual crude steel capacity of 20 million tonnes and major manufacturing sites in the UK, Netherlands, Germany, France and Belgium.
In this role, you will drive and deliver compliance to engineering standards in design, installation and defect elimination across functions. You will project manage major capital investment projects, as well as assisting in the development and implementation of capital and revenue investment projects within the budgets and timescales required.
You will also facilitate and coordinate the development and implementation of engineering and maintenance best practices, across the business, ensuring all statutory and mandatory safety, environmental, engineering standards and responsibilities under COMAH, LOLER, PUWER, pressure systems etc., are implemented and maintained.
You will also identify requirements for product and process improvement. You will lead improvement reviews, including ongoing improvement projects as well as playing a full role in defect elimination.
Assisting in establishing and implementing engineering training solutions and systems, you will ensure that engineering personnel are trained to achieve a required level of competence.
Qualifications / Experience / Personal Qualities:
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
You will have proven capability as a Project Engineer on high value projects and possess the knowledge and ability to facilitate and drive engineering improvement. You will be capable of forming and leading multi-discipline project and improvement teams interfacing with manufacturing and other engineering disciplines.
To assist in delivery of improvements through the area, it is essential that the successful candidate is capable of devising engineering solutions, researching solutions and implementing change. As such you will have experience of implementing change initiatives and be able to demonstrate success in managing complex technical and managerial issues. You will possess a detailed understanding and application of QM systems and the application of ISO9001 & 2.
